BUDDING lifesavers received prestigious awards for their training efforts.
A total of 11 members of the Sedgemoor Lifesaving and Lifeguard Club received the Royal Lifesaving Aquagold Award in 1989.
The scheme brought together tests of swimming ability with training designed to develop safety and rescue skills.
Each club member was put through a series of tests, including resuscitation.
The award winners were Stephen Moore, Paul and David Bennett, Krystyna Pickersgill, Jean and Clare Cable, Tristan Bacon, Kate Maddock, Stephen Lowe, Anthony Moore and Michelle Drew.
