BRIDGWATER YMCA celebrated International Women’s Day in style, inviting a number of inspirational speakers to talk about their careers and pressing topics affecting women today.
On Friday (March 8) guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea before hearing inspiring talks from Charlotte Joseph of Modibodi PR, a company which has designed special menstrual underwear, Lisa Simpson, a chief inspector with Avon and Somerset Police, Hayley Blackman, a woman’s wellbeing educator, and Sandra Ford, county chairman of the Somerset federation of the Women’s Institute.
The audience included young ladies from Robert Blake Science College and Haygrove who chatted with the speakers following their various eye-opening insights.
Organiser Katie Newell said she was delighted with how well the event went.
