WE are often reporting on cutbacks causing problems and frustrations in the Mercury - but this week there was one cutback that brought a smile to many people’s faces.
There was much relief as Bridgwater Morrisons undertook work to cut back the overgrown hedgerow in the lane alongside the store site which connects Broadway to the canal path.
Cllr Leigh Redman sparked action with an open letter to the supermarket giant saying it had become an eyesore and problem for pedestrians and cyclists.
“I would like to thank Morrisons store manager Paul O’Brien and his team for taking such swift action,” Cllr Redman said.
“It looks a lot better and is considerably safer too.”
