AN electricity sub-station in Bridgwater was destroyed in a fire this morning (Thursday).
Firefighters were called to the incident in Bristol Road shortly after 9am.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Upon arrival of the crews, they set to work cordoning off the area, isolating utility supply and setting up a covering jet.
"Western Power was also requested to attend the incident to enable crews to enter the sub-station.
"The fire and heat caused 100 per cent damage to the sub-station."
