BRIDGWATER firefighters had a busy day with two callouts in the town within a matter of hours today (Tuesday, March 5).

Just after 11am crews were called out to reports of an electric box on fire outside of a building on Salmon Parade.

On arrival the firefighters confirmed that the electric box outside of a flat was well alight and that the flat itself was heavily smoke logged.

The crews quickly extinguished the blaze however the electric box was destroyed in the blaze, and there was smoke damage to part of the flat.

Then just before 2pm the fire engine was once again called out after a car caught fire near the junction for Taunton Road and Broadway.

On arrival the crews swiftly doused the flames, meaning the car's engine received some damage but the vehicle was prevented from being written off completely.
