A BRIDGWATER support group has received a fundraising boost after being named a Community Champion by a regional housebuilder.
Ups and Downs SouthWest, a support charity for those involved with the care and education of children with Down Syndrome, has received £1,000 cash donation from Persimmon Homes Severn Valley. The cash will be used to fund a day trip for ten young people who use the group’s services.
Joanna Thorn, from the charity, said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes Severn Valley for its generous donation.
“This money will take 10 young people from our youth club with Downs Syndrome to Mendip Snowsport Centre and pay for their lunch.
“It’s important to provide an inclusive environment for these young people, where they can enjoy themselves in a safe environment with trained volunteers.”
