ANGEL Place Shopping Centre is on the lookout for local community clubs and groups that are doing brilliant things in Bridgwater and would like to offer one organisation a fantastic £1,000 boost.

The ‘Best of Bridgwater’ campaign has been launched to learn more out about and support the many inspiring, community-run projects that offer social benefits to the town.

It could be an initiative to improve homelessness, creative opportunities for children or a service for older generations to socialise and learn new skills - Angel Place wants to hear about it.

For a chance to receive the £1,000 advance, members of associations and social enterprises based in Bridgwater are invited to submit details about their work on the Angel Place website at www.angel-place.co.uk.

The closing date for applications is Sunday, March 31 2019, with the winner to be announced in April.

A spokesperson for Angel Place Shopping Centre, said: “Bridgwater is a wonderful place to live and work, with diverse programmes happening in and around the town.

"With the Best of Bridgwater, we want to delve deeper into the community and show our support for the great efforts of organisations doing their bit to enhance the lives of local people.

“There are brilliant ideas out there that unfortunately don’t get off the ground or established schemes that are hindered in progressing further due to lack of funding, so Angel Place is stepping with a £1,000 contribution to propel one stand-out project to the next level.”

“Bridgwater is well-known for its close-knit community spirit but we’re sure we’re going to discover some amazing things that are flying under the radar at the moment that deserve to be in the spotlight.”
