AUDITIONS for Bridgwater's prestigious will be taking place later this year.

Vocalists, musicians, comedians, dancers, and all other entertainers are being asked to try out to take part in the fantastic shows which take place between September 30 and October 12.

The twelve shows are expected to sell out an audience of 4,500 people.

The auditions are for the front of curtain acts, which break up the performances from the 13 carnival clubs from Bridgwater.

Dave Croker, chairman of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival, said: “We would love to hear from individuals and groups who enjoy performing on a stage in front of an audience, and who can entertain for a five minute slot at this year’s show.

"If our 2018 auditions are anything to go by, then the judges will have an extremely difficult task in selecting the acts that will go through to the concerts.”

Hopeful entertainers have until April 26 to apply for one of the sought-after slots.

The auditions are then set to take place at Bridgwater Town Hall on Tuesday, May 7.

Interested entertainers who think they have got what it takes and who would like to audition can apply by contacting Anne Middleton at enquiries@bridgwatercarnival.org.uk or by completing the relevant application form available from the Bridgwater Carnival official website bridgwatercarnival.org.uk .

Forms can also be collected from the Bridgwater Carnival Centre.

Completed forms need to be emailed or posted back to Anne at 21 Somerset Road, Bridgwater, Somerset. TA6 5NT.

At the 2018 carnival concerts, successful front of curtain acts included Brandon Fuller, who won four trophies including best single vocalist for his rendition of A message from George III, and Viva La Diva who took the best song, dance, musical or novelty act award.

This year’s auditions are once again sponsored by Anderson and Wall.
