THE Young Somerset group has received a grant to help restore its workshop following a break in last year.
Young Somerset run a workshop in Edington used by multiple young people each week to gain experience, life skills and qualifications.
However last year they were the victim of a burglary and left them needing to replace tools, generators and batteries taken from the mechanics workshop.
The group has been successful in applying for £1,500 of funding through the Homes in Sedgemoor Making a Difference Fund.
Open access youth work project leader for Young Somerset Amanda Johnson said: “We are all incredibly grateful to Homes in Sedgemoor for the funds and for their ongoing support of our work.
“These funds were a much-needed boost to the staff and young people who have been feeling the effects of the burglary.”
The Making a Difference fund was set up to support community organisations to start up or to support ongoing projects such as support groups, health and well-being, eco schemes or community activities.
