A BRIDGWATER business celebrating its 32nd year in the town is expanding to open sites in France and Spain.

Jasun Envirocare, based at Riverside House, Parrett Way, are a true local success story and have quietly continued growing since moving to Bridgwater in 1987.

The family-run business is now the second biggest company of its type in the UK and sells its air filer products across the globe.

“Our first factory in Bridgwater had 15 staff,” explains technical director Colin Hitch.

“We now have 185 staff on the books and employ a lot of local people, and good number of our staff have been with us for many years.”

Jasun Envirocare specialise in delivering clean air where it matters, providing air filters, ductwork, monitoring indoor air quality and validating clean rooms. They also manage water hygiene systems.

Their products can be found everywhere from restaurants to nuclear power stations.

“The industry has changed a lot in the last few years,” Mr Hitch said.

“For a long time the priority was creating air filters to protect the machines, but increasing importance is being put on improving air quality for employees too which has meant adapting the products.”

Jasun Envirocare has also invested in a specialised research and development equipment and has a machine which can the resistance and efficiency of air filters, and is the only one of its kind the country.

As well as growing in Bridgwater, the company now has factories and offices in France and Bilbao, Spain.

“We see a lot of businesses coming and going over the years while we have been here quietly and steadily growing year on year and wanted to shout about the success of a local family-run business,” Mr Hitch said.

“We like being based in Bridgwater and have always been strong defenders of the town, and hope to continue to thrive here for many years to come.”
