TWO students at a Highbridge school have been giving young children an insight into the Holocaust.

Year 11 students Ellie Edrich and Jess Smith led assemblies at The King Alfred School, an Academy, (TKASA) on the horrors of the holocaust after their year group was assigned roles to research about specific events during this period.

Hundreds of students in as the two students paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the Holocaust.

Ellie said: “Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to remember the millions of people killed in the Holocaust, but also in the genocides that followed around the world.

“It is vital that we learn how the lessons of the past can inform our lives today, and ensure that we all work together to create a better future for everyone.”
