THE 65 (Bridgwater& District) Squadron Air Training Corps were joined by the Mayor of Bridgwater, Cllr Diogo Rodrigues to unveil the Squadrons’ new Crest last Saturday.

Approved by the Garter King of Arms the new Squadron crest depicts the Willow Man sculpture which so clearly identifies Bridgwater as motorists drive along the M5.

As part of the crest the Squadron motto of “Together We Achieve” in Latin is also included.

Designed and approved in 2018, the Squadron chose to formally launch the new crest with cadets, parents, friends from local organisations including the Royal British legion, and the Mayor of Bridgwater in attendance.

The Squadron is growing rapidly and is open to young people between 12 (Year 8) and 18 years of age.

Running on Mondays and Wednesday evenings throughout the year the unit offers young people opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, flying, gliding, camps, adventurous training and many other activities.

If you are interested, please feel free to pop along to the unit between 7pm and 9.30pm on a parade evening and find out what we have to offer. Alternatively email adj.65@aircadets.org for more information.
