BRIDGWATER and District Civic Society resumes its monthly speakers programme with a talk on the village of Stawell.
Charles Graham, whose family have been central to village life for generations, is giving a talk which is both a family history and a good look at Stawell since the Second World War.
Dave Chapple, chairman of the Civic Society, said: “This is the first time we have had a talk about Stawell, and it is the first time Charles has given a talk.
“It should be full of stories, insights and plenty on interesting characters.”
The talk takes place at the Victoria Park Community Centre on Wednesday, January 9 at 7.30pm.
The event is free for members and £3 for non-members.
Then on January 17, the Bridgwater Archaeological Society is hosting Cecil Sharp & Somerset Folk Music evening at Bridgwater Museum at 7.30pm.
