EXMOOR National Park Authority is encouraging all those who live and work in, enjoy or care for National Parks to share their views as part of the Government’s ongoing review of England’s protected landscapes, ahead of the deadline next Tuesday, December 18.

The independent review, covering all National Parks and Areas of Outstanding National Beauty (AONBs) in England, represents one of the most thorough appraisals of protected landscape designation since their founding nearly 70 years ago.

It will look at how these national assets can be made even more attractive and better protected, as well as how those who live and work in them might be better supported.

Sarah Bryan, ENPA chief executive, said: “Our National Parks are special places where people can experience some of the nation’s most iconic scenery, wildlife and heritage. If you value these landscapes it is vital your views are heard.”

The Authority’s own response will call for more local influence over how farming delivers benefits for the environment and people, better tools for monitoring and researching environmental and landscape change, and greater clarity around the role of National Park Authorities.
