A MEMBER of the Llandudno Junction Community Club has spoken of her pride at being chosen to represent them in London on Remembrance Sunday.

Mel Lewis travelled to Whitehall, Westminster, alongside fellow group member Sue Jones to pay their respects to the non-military Labour Corps who they have called “the unsung heroes that kept the country running.”

“It was an exciting and humbling experience,” Mel said.

“It was absolutely surreal to have been chosen and it’s an experience I’ll never forget. It was great to be able to represent Llandudno Junction in this way.”

“London was amazing, the whole event was managed so well, we were with ten thousand like minded people who felt proud to be part of our nations remembrance parade and give thanks to those brave men and women.”

Mel and Sue took a specially knitted wreath of poppies with them on the trip initially organised by Cllr. Bill Chapman.
