BRIDGWATER’S Hoonigans Motorcycle Club have been helping to put smiles on faces for children in hospital over Halloween.

The Hoonigans, a motorcycle club of around 10 members, took it upon themselves to undertake a ride with a difference on Halloween, heading round hospitals across Somerset donating sweets to the children’s wards.

Club president Joey Webb said: “We thought it would be nice to do something for the kids who can’t go out trick or treating or join in the Halloween fun.”

They made quite an entrance when they stopped off at Musgrove Park Hospital on Wednesday, October 31, dropping off candy for the sick children.

The Hoonigans are based out of The Commercial Inn on Redgate Street, and like to give something back to the community.

“A lot of the lads here are ex-military,” Joey said.

“There is a sense of brotherhood in the forces that is hard to replicate when you return to a ‘normal’ life.

“The club instils a lot of these values – we are about loyalty, honesty and integrity and a sense of discipline.”

The group regularly attends a number of riders’ meets in Bridgwater, Langport, Blue Anchor, Bristol and Poole among others.
