CHILDREN in Puriton were celebrating this week in 2008 after a new all-weather play area was opened.
The facility, at the Sunshine Pre-School, was opened during a break in bad weather, featuring a nursery rhyme climbing frame, a toy train and activities table, which were given the chance to show off their all-weather capabilities.
The play area was the pet project of Julie Vearncombe, the pre-school’s former chairman, who cut the ribbon to mark the opening.
The work was paid for thanks to fundraising events and a £5,760 donation from Viridor Credits Environmental Company, and is open to the whole community when the pre-school is closed.
