A PRIMARY school is Bridgwater is celebrating after new playground equipment is offically opened.
The new equipment at Willowdown Primary School was unveiled on Thursday, October 4.
Funding from the Healthy Pupil Grant, known as the sugar tax, funded the new addition to the playground.
Courtney Bolton, from Saturn Class, cut the tape and announced to all the children the playground was officially open.
She said “I was really excited about cutting the tape and couldn’t sleep the night before.”
The trail is a test of balance and increases children’s mobility while making play fun.
Ro Roberts, the new headteacher, said: “I am absolutely delighted with this play equipment.
“It adds some new play experiences to our beautiful school grounds and will help encourage risky play for all our pupils.”
The opening fell on the same day as the school’s British Values Day, which saw an inflatable white and red slide put up as part of the event.
