DRAMATIC aerial pictures of the £150 million Bridgwater Gateway development has been released.

The photographs reveals the extent of progress on the project.

Taken on behalf of construction and civil engineering specialist Encon Construction, the shots show the 1km of private roads now in place at the 100-acre mixed-use development.

Phil Wade, development manager at Bridgwater Gateway, which is being marketed by Colliers International, said: “Remarkable progress has taken place at Bridgwater Gateway over the past year.

“There are now 1km of new private estate roads, and it will not be long before prime new commercial properties will be springing up along the sides of these roads as part of the fast-track delivery being offered at Bridgwater Gateway.

"Already, work is underway on a new Premier Inn hotel, which will be delivered in 34 weeks.”

Philip Woodward, managing director of Encon Construction said: “The Project Team carried out an excellent job on a complex project. This included an extensive archaeological strip prior to commencement of the main works working alongside Oxford Archaeology, during which Bronze age settlements and burial sites were found.

“Other works included deep drainage was installed with some of the pipe runs being 4.5 metres deep; major earthworks including the excavation of an attenuation pond; around 600m of flexible road construction with flexible road construction with

footpaths and cycle paths, all to adoptable standard with associated street lighting and signage; installation of gas, water, electricity services and a BT network of ducts.”
