A MAN who breached a Community Behaviour Order after being found begging on the streets of Taunton has appeared before Somerset Magistrates.

Haydon Mark Baker was in possession of a quantity of the “zombie” drug Spice and also assaulted a security officer at Taunton Magistrates Court.

The 33-year-old defendant, of Trinity Road, Taunton, appeared in the dock before magistrates at Yeovil.

He was charged with three counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order in May and June in that he sat on the ground placing himself to beg which he was prohibited from doing so by the order made in February this year.

He was also alleged to have assaulted a court security officer acting in the execution of his duty at Taunton court on June 28.

On June 4 he was also charged with being in possession of 9.95g of green herbal material containing synthetic cannabinoid, namely Spice (class B).

The defendant pleaded guilty to all five offences and his solicitor Heidi Waddon said that Baker was currently subject to a deferred sentence previously imposed by District Judge David Taylor.

She said the district judge had reserved any future judgements involving the defendant to himself.

As a result the magistrates agreed to adjourn sentencing of the case until October 4 when Baker was ordered to appear before the district judge at Taunton Magistrates Court.

Until then he was given unconditional bail.
