ONE of Bridgwater’s landmark statues is getting a spring clean.
Admiral Blake in Fore Street will be given a wash and brush-up on Thursday June 14.
A cleaning company will be using specialist cleaning techniques to make sure that the statue and granite plinth is returned to its former glory by removing grime, dirt and bird droppings.
The bronze statue will also receive two coats of protective wax. This will mean that the statue and plinth will be coned off from public use for a short time.
The cost of cleaning the statue and plinth will be £1,050.
The Admiral Blake statue in Fore Street was last cleaned in 2015.
