A 'WELL-BUILT' man is wanted by police for punching a woman in the face during an attempted robbery in Bridgwater.
Police are appealing for information on the incident on St Mary’s Street at about 11pm on Saturday, May 5.
The incident was reported to have happened near the alley that leads to Priory Court.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: “A woman was walking along St Mary’s Street near the alley that leads to Priory Court.
“She was approached by a man who tried to snatch her handbag but failed. He then punched her in the face before the victim was able to run away.
“The man is described as white, about 6ft, and well built.
“He was wearing a black zip-up hoody with the hood up, black trousers, and a scarf or similar across his face.”
