THE British Flag pub in Bridgwater has raised £1,670 for St Margaret’s Hospice in memory of Marcy Smith.

A spokesman for The British Flag said: “The British Flag and our customers are very proud to be part of the Easter and Christmas raffles and this year we would like to dedicate the donation to the memory of our dear friend Marcy Smith who suddenly passed away in February.

“The hospice cared for Marcy’s late husband, Steve, in his final months and gave her and her family so much support.”

Terena Young, the local community fundraiser who accepted the cheque said: “It is amazing what the staff and customers have raised for St Margaret’s Hospice.

"We are truly humbled by the devotion that The British Flag has shown to support our hospice.

"The money they have raised will pay for three whole days of care at the Taunton hospice which is free to the patients and their families.  I would like to thank all those who took part and contributed to this donation”.
