Residents across the county have posted images on social media which show empty supermarket shelves across the county.

Bridgwater resident, Suzanne Attwell went to ASDA in Bridgwater to pick up some milk and bread but left empty handed.

She said: "I think its stupid that people go out and buy far too much and when people really need it they can't get any.

"I am a night worker and I rely on having bread and milk to make my packed lunch for work and now I'm going to have to find something else because the milk I use is not there."
