APPLICATIONS are now open for this year's carnival concerts.

The Bridgwater Carnival Committee will be holding the auditions on May 8, and applications are welcome until April 30.

The auditions are for the front-of-curtain acts that perform between the carnival clubs and dance troops.

Thirteen acts will be chosen to perform for two weeks at the prestigious Carnival Concerts at Bridgwater Town Hall, which this year take place between October 1-13.

If you have a talent or a desire to entertain then Bridgwater Carnival wants to hear from you.

Vocalists, dancers, musicians, magicians and anything in between are welcome to audition.

Last year’s auditions were the biggest yet with nearly 30 acts competing for the 13 coveted slots.

Malcolm Cattle, Carnival Committee president, said: “Bridgwater is full of talent, there’s no doubting that, and the Carnival Concerts are a great place to gain some real experience of performing. It’s fun but also hard work for the two week run. We want to encourage local talent and we love to see new faces so if you want to give it a go, what’s stopping you?”

If you think you have what it takes to entertain an audience then please contact Anne Middleton on 07917662218 or complete the application form online on the Carnival website www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk

Forms are also available from the Carnival Centre on the High Street.
