A VALENTINE'S Ball to help raise money for two children with rare illnesses was a huge success this weekend.

More than 100 people headed to North Petherton Rugby Club on Saturday night for an evening filled with glitz, glamour, music and laughter, all organised to help support Bridgwater youngsters Libby Budden, nine, and Jenson Bryant, five.

Libby was diagnosed with a condition called neurofibromatosis when she was three. It is a genetic condition which causes tumours to grow on nerve endings throughout the whole body.

Meanwhile, superhero fan Jenson lives with a combination of conditions having been diagnosed with both type 1 diabetes and cerebral palsy.

They were the guests of honour at the Ball which raised a fantastic £2,500 .

Libby's mum, Katrina Budden said: "It was overwhelming, a really amazing evening."
