DAMAGE: Crews were called to Riverton Road
AN EIGHT tonne excavator was severely damaged in a fire in Bridgwater this afternoon.
Firefighters from Bridgwater were called to the scene on Riverton Road at 3.23pm today (Tuesday, January 30) and found the large industrial vehicle well alight.
The crews swiftly got to work using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue confirmed the excavator was 70% damaged in the blaze, and said the crew left duty of care with the site personnel.
