YOUNGSTERS from Penrose Special School enjoyed a day out at Crealy Park last Wednesday (June 13) - thanks to the kind-hearted Rotary Club of Bridgwater.

A total of 41 children enjoyed the treat and were helped by deputy school head Pam Laird, 37 teachers and assistants and rotarians Peter Lancaster, Barry and Vanessa Eason.

And although the journey started in sunshine, the light rain later in the day could not dampen the spirits of the youngsters.

"The park is a combination of adventure park and animal sanctuary providing a great deal of interest, as well as lots of enjoyment for the children from Penrose School," spokesman Peter Lancaster said.

"Kids Out day is an annual event organised by Rotary with a picnic lunch, ice creams and a free ride provided for each of the children.

"For the twelfth year in succession the Rotary Club of Bridgwater hosted the children of Penrose Special School, for this great day of fun held this year again at Crealy Park.

"On their return to Penrose School, head teacher Sue Neale thanked the accompanying rotarians and the Rotary Club of Bridgwater for providing a wonderful day out in which everybody enjoyed themselves despite the weather."
