Motorists faced delays this morning as all three lanes of the M5 Northbound were closed due to a number of bricks falling off the back of a lorry.
The incident occured between junction 23 for A39 Bridgater North and junction 22 A38 for Burnham-on-Sea, and police were called just after 11am.
Police closed all three lanes of the motorway and Highways Agency moved the debris onto the hard shoulder.
A police spokesman said: "The road was reopened at 11:35am and traffic is now freeflowing."
