YEAR 11 students at Bridgwater College Academy are celebrating again after receiving a fantastic set of English GCSE results.
The Academy chose to enter 80% of the cohort early after the students demonstrated exceptional effort and progress. The students took the exam in November 2015 and there were tears of joy and students jumping up and down when they received their results.
Seventeen per cent of those entered achieved an A or A* and 45 per cent achieved a B. Now, the students will be focussing on achieving even better results in their English Literature GCSE.
Lindsay Skinner, head of curriculum and standards, was elated: "The students and staff have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve these outstanding results. It's a clear demonstration of the Academy's high academic standards and I am proud to be part of the team making it happen."
Bridgwater College Academy achieved record GCSE results last year, performing well above the national average and they look set to perform even better this year.
