Bridgwater Carnival has scooped the Gold Award in the South West Tourism Awards.
Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, Cllr Ian Dyer, has congratulated Bridgwater Carnival on winning the prestigious award.
The Carnival scooped the Gold Award in the Tourism Event of the Year category at the Awards, which were held in Exeter Cathedral last night on February 4.
Cllr Gill Slocombe, SDCs representative on the Carnival Committee said "I felt so elated and proud for all Carnivalites who all put so much into bringing the most amazing show each year to Bridgwater and Sedgemoor.
"It was a great night and I am delighted that Bridgwater Carnival has been recognised for its contribution towards tourism, not only within Sedgemoor but across the South West"
