A GROUP of Bridgwater cyclists cycled 762km at the weekend but didn't move an inch.
Staff from Morrisons in the town took part in a fundraising event to raise money for Sue Ryder by pedalling static exercise bikes at the store loaned by Bridgwater College in order to raise £500.
The target set by the company was reached with some sterling performances from Mark Evan, Tom Fincham and Phil Pearce from the store although it was a team effort from the staff.
Sue Ryder was chosen by the firm due to its commitment to hospice care. Geri Baker of the store said: "The whole company nationally was challenged to cycle or walk the distance from here to the moon. It was well supported by customers. Our target was to cycle 762km with one of the men riding 90km - he was very tired at the end."
