SCIENCE lovers will be in the element when Bridgwater Science Festival returns for its second year over the May half-term.

Opening with the Family Fun Day at the Town Hall on Saturday, May 23, there will be fun activities to keep the whole family occupied including a puppet show, bubble show and a variety of workshops.

There will also be talks from organisations such as the Met Office, and Butterfly Conservation as well as interactive stands in the exhibition, and displays.

The "International Images for Science" exhibition from the Royal Photographic Society will also be on display at The Engine Room, followed by a classic sci-fi film screening.

Later in the week, the University of West of England will be showcasing ‘Science-in-a-Box’ providing a hands-on experiment aimed at children in school years 6 to 12.

Other events in the week include Funky Fossils at the Somerset Brick & Tile Museum, Astronomy on the Levels and arts and craft sessions.
