A COMMEMORATIVE blue plaque was unveiled at the former home of Lord King of Bridgwater on Friarn Street on Friday, March 16.
Bridgwater Civic Society president Derek Gibson and mayor Pat Parker greeted Lord and Lady King, who unveiled the plaque on the wall of the Georgian building, in recognition of Lord King's long service to the town as its MP.Lord King, former defence secretary, thanked all those involved in the project, especially young volunteers from Bridgwater College.The Blue Plaque project, part of the Building of Bridgwater scheme, has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
