BRIDGWATER Fire Station staff made sure they are prepared for a chemical leak by running over their drills.
Two Incident Response Units were set up at the station for firefighters to practice their lifesaving techniques.
Each unit is capable of decontaminating 50 people within an hour after exposure to chemicals.
Other Somerset stations to have the equipment include Taunton, Yeovil, Chard and Ilminster, Wellington and Wivilescombe.
Trainer Paul Stubbles said: "It can be used locally, regionally and nationally. The aim is that anywhere in the country will be reached by a unit within 90 minutes."
