TEMPORARY flood defences, built and operated by Sedgemoor District Council, have been put in place in Blake Gardens to reassure elderly residents in St Saviour’s Avenue their property should not flood over the coming days when high Spring tides are predicted.
A council spokesperson said: “The elderly residents in St Saviours Avenue are understandably worried, so we considered it ‘better safe than sorry’.
“We understand that his means no access to Blake Gardens from St Saviour’s Avenue but hope that non-residents will understand.”
