INSPIRING Year 9 girls from schools in Bridgwater and Weston returned to Bridgwater College to take part in the next stage of a Challenge for Women project.
The project aims to raise awareness of the construction and engineering industries to young women and is supported by EDF Energy.
The group, made up of talented girls from Bridgwater College Academy and Haygrove School in Bridgwater and Broadoak and Worle Community Schools in Weston, took part in activities which included designing a bridge, building an electronic circuit and Computer Aided Design.
Paul Goss, section leader for engineering at Bridgwater College, said: “The event has been fantastic and very worthwhile.
“We set out to inspire young women to think about a career in one of these fantastic industries and have definitely reached our goals.
“We look forward to their next visit in the spring term when the girls will have the opportunity to visit Hinkley Point.”
