THE Dogs Trust is offering free microchipping at its 20 rehoming centres for all dogs and through special chipping events across the UK.
To find out about its free chipping events visit chipmydog.org.uk The Dogs Trust has chipped more than 700,000 dogs since 1999 but recent research shows about 110,000 dogs in the South-West remain unchipped.
Microchipping will become compulsory for dogs in England in April 2016.
There are an estimated 8.9million dogs in the UK and 24% of households now own a dog.
