A PUB near Bridgwater has received a cash prize after being judged as the winner of a South-West Pubs In Bloom competition.
The Knowle Inn at Bawdrip has been judged as the overall winner of the South-West Division for Enterprise Inns Pubs In Bloom competition.
The pub beat more than 300 other pubs to win the top prize of £5,000.
The judges said they liked the depth of colour, variety of planting and the impact of the pub frontage from the main road.
Landlord Toby Last was delighted to learn of the pub’s success, having only taken over The Knowle Inn six months ago.
He said: “Special thanks must go to Mike at Lonsdale Nurseries in Chedzoy for supplying the baskets and designing the arrangements and ensuring the irrigation system was up to speed.
“The prize money will be used to make further improvements to the pub, both inside and out.
