THE A38 in Thurloxton is partially blocked after a tractor caught fire at around 11am today.

As a result of the fire, which has now been extinguished, traffic is moving very slowly as motorists approach this stretch of road.

Firefighters from Bridgwater and Taunton arrived on scene to find cattle in the trailer that was being towed by the tractor had been removed to a place of safety.

The cattle were unharmed and awaiting removal from the scene.

Council workers have been dispatched to make emergency repairs to the road and police are in attendance to assist with directing traffic around the fire damage.

The tractor has now been moved to a nearby layby where it is awaiting recovery.
