RESIDENTS across Somerset are hoping to benefit from improved internet speeds as extra funding is announced.
Councils across Devon and Somerset are working together to invest £38million in connecting 95% of the population with superfast broadband by 2017.
Cllr David Hall, deputy leader of Somerset County Council, said: "There is still a lot of work left to do.
"Our energy and focus remains directed towards connecting the whole of Devon and Somerset as rapidly and efficiently as possible."
