SOMERSET Savings and Loans is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month and is on the lookout for more volunteers to help deliver its services to vulnerable people across the county.
Director Gill Hull has been involved with the fast-expanding credit union since it started.
She said: “The credit union has expanded out of all recognition since we re-launched at the beginning of 2012, doubling the number of people who invest and save with us.
“But although we have had great success in attracting investment and have built up more than adequate reserves, we need to get the money out to where it is needed – in our struggling communities.”
Based at Portishead, Somerset Savings and Loans also operates a drop in centre at the Bournville estate in Weston.
Anybody interested in offering their skills should contact the credit union on 01275-390649.
