ENGLAND’S ‘queen of folk music’, Maddy Prior, hits the Strode Theatre stage tomorrow (October 22) at 7.30pm.
Maddy will be bringing Carnival Band regular Giles Lewin and singer, accordionist and clog dancer Hannah James to Street.
Together they will play a wonderfully eclectic selection of traditional music from England, America and Eastern Europe.
Some 40 years on from her emergence on the late sixties folk circuit, Maddy Prior is one of the most enduring, influential and respected artists in British music.
Known for both her work as vocalist of Steeleye Span and numerous solo endeavours, Maddy’s career has been a memorable and prolific one, and she remains every bit as engaging an artist today as ever.
Tickets are £16/£14 concessions, available on 01458-442846 and online at www.strodetheatre.co.uk
