TWO pioneers in the art of ‘stand-up storytelling’ are to show off their skills at Bridgwater Arts Centre at 8pm on Friday.
Under Her Skin, a performance duo comprising Debs Newbold and Laurel Swift, gives an ancient sea-tale or ‘selkie’ a modern edge by fusing “charismatic” storytelling with the sounds of double bass and fiddle.
A tale of loss and regret it may be but the result is said to be uplifting, contemporary, and funny enough to make your sides hurt.
Tickets cost £10 (£8 for concessions) on bridgwaterartscentre.co.uk or 01278-422700.
