A SPOOKY book is being released just in time for Halloween by a Bridgwater author.
Roger Evans’ Dorset Tales of Mystery and Murder is the third in a series about unexplained happenings in the SouthWest, following his previous books about Somerset and Wiltshire.
It includes 20 stories, ranging in time from a Bronze Age warrior who haunts Cranbourne Chase to the discovery of a mass grave of mutilated bodies in 2007 in the county.
Just as in the earlier titles – Somerset Tales of Mystery and Murder and Wiltshire Tales of Mystery and Murder – Roger shows how even this beautiful country setting has a dark past.
He said: “Why such a rurally idyllic county as Dorset should be blessed with so many murders is a mystery in itself.”
The book, priced at £7.95, is released on Friday (October 26) and is available via www.countrysidebooks.co.uk or from booksellers and various attractions in the area.
