CLAIRE Rosemary Jane's book “Chloe's Extraordinary telescope" was recently published. She grew up in Malvern in Worcestershire and is the eldest of six children.

She said :"I am a local author and I live in North Petherton in Somerset. I have already carried out an interview, with Simon Parkin, which I did actually carry out in the BBC Somerset studio."

"I have also been invited to the studios at BBC Bristol to carry out a similar interview with Steve Yabsley on Friday March 17 at 2-20 pm. For this I am once again going into the studio."

She is the author of “Chloe's Extraordinary telescope" a book that talks about Chloe Blackthorne who is the only child of parents who are rather older than many parents and who are quite strict.

One day, she sneaks into the loft which her parents have forbidden her from entering, and discovers a strange telescope hidden away! Chloe quickly discovers that it has extraordinary powers to both see into the future and into the past, becoming her favourite possession as she explores time.

On her book Claire shares her thoughts and says: "The reason why this book is so important is because it challenges people to think about how the future of the planet may pan out."

Giving an example of an excerpt from her book Claire explains that when Chloe discovers that she has found a telescope that can see into the future, with it comes quite a responsibility to let other people know what may well happen to planet earth.

Speaking on her writing journey she said:"One thing that I have already found is that although it is pitched at young adults, adults enjoy reading it as well, it will certainly challenge you."

Claire shared that this was the view of the Editorial panel of the publishers as well. She said :"When they first contacted me about their willingness to publish the book, they clearly saw that this was an important topic, dealing as it does with what might become of planet earth in the future."

They shared :"Your manuscript was brought to our attention at the latest Editorial Board meeting when we discussed the potential of its publication. Having read all the reports and taken note of the Editors’ opinions we can confidently state that your work was found to be a powerful and thought-provoking read."

The reader would find much to absorb them, allowing reflection and understanding to continue in earnest at some distance past the final page."

The Board was keen to comment on the ambitious scope of the work and was impressed by her ability to convey such raw emotion in her writing, applauding the way in which she has tackled what is widely considered a difficult subject.

The lyrical writing style and the novel’s intricate narrative structure make this story one that will captivate a wide audience.
