Floyd Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao at a hugely-hyped boxing match back in May, and now he’s beaten him again – to the top of the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid celebrities.
The two of them knocked Katy Perry and One Direction into third and fourth place respectively.
The boxers benefited from a rule change: Forbes, which has been ranking the rich and famous since 1999, has this year arranged the list by annual income only, rather than overall wealth and influence.
This has been a big year for Mayweather and Pacquiao. Having fought earlier this year in a boxing match billed as The Fight Of The Century, the two boxers led Forbes’ annual list with earnings of $300m (£190m) and $160m (£101m) respectively.
By contrast, Katy was beaten into third place with a paltry $135m (£85m). This still puts her ahead of rival pop star Taylor Swift, who came eighth with $80m (£50m).
We hope there’s no Bad Blood about it, especially as Forbes have named Taylor and boyfriend Calvin Harris as the world’s highest-paid celebrity couple, dethroning Beyonce and Jay-Z.
