The origins of the site are believed to date back to the de la Poole family who occupied the site in the 1400s. Although the house is probably of 16th Century construction having had an open hall, the floor was inserted and the house extended in the 17th Century. The property is listed Grade II.

The house been restored in recent years retaining many fine period features while producing a most comfortable and adaptable house with enormous character. Features include flagstone floors, with the benefit of gas fired underfloor heating, Beer stone fireplaces, oak framed leaded light windows, some mullion windows, exposed chamfered and cruck beams. The staircase and balustrade are a particular historical feature, with timber bars through which the local tenants would have paid their rent to the Lord of the Manor.

The 26' farmhouse style kitchen/dining room has plenty of room for a large table and an island, fitted with granite worktops, large fridge, two integrated dishwashers, a Miele wine cooler, a double Butler sink, a Falcon professional range cooker, induction hob and a Falcon extractor fan. This room looks across the lovely rear garden. and includes an old fireplace, wood burner and a flagstone floor.

On the second floor is a spacious fifth bedroom which has an en suite shower room and storage within the eaves.

An unassuming entrance in a tall stone wall gives access into a large enclosed gravel parking area with timber shed, sheltered by trees. Through another stonewall takes you down through the front gardens, which are formed into three gentle south facing terraces ideal for entertaining and planted with an array of attractive shrubs and plants.
