I have lived with my husband Alan in Cannington for forty-five years.  We have three sons. After a career in theatre, I re-trained as a teacher and worked for Bridgwater College, delivering English for Speakers of Other Languages, until retirement.

I have been involved with the local LibDems and  I have stood as a candidate for Westminster, the European Parliament as well as Seedgemoor District Council.

I am a member of Actors’s Union Equity, the Bridgwater U3A and the Somerset Wildlife Trust.  I have been involved in various English language projects and the charity Diversity Voice, based in Bridgwater.  As a member of the Friends of Nether Stowey Library, I have supported them in their fight to retain this facility for the community.

I rate the main issues of concern within the Cannington and Wembdon Ward as follows:

•             Traffic management in both villages with particular emphasis on access for emergency services, speeding traffic and ongoing parking problems.

•             The impact on both communities of the proposed housebuilding programme where road infrastructure, health and schooling services are of serious concern.

If elected to Sedgemoor District Council, improving road safety, cost efficiency, and waste management, particularly the recycling of plastics, would be my areas of specific interest.
