NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the M5 motorway at Junctions 25 to 26 in the County of Somerset to allow resurfacing, white lining, loop cutting, bridge joint works and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place overnight (between 20:00 and 06:00) on or after 3 April 2018 and be completed by 6 November 2018. The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of:
(i) the M5 southbound between Junction 25 and 26;
(ii) the M5 northbound between Junction 26
(iii) the southbound entry slip road at M5 Junction 25;
(iv) the southbound slip roads at Taunton Deane Services;
(v) the northbound entry slip road at M5 Junction 26;
(vi) the southbound exit slip road at M5 Junction 26
(vii) the northbound slip roads at Taunton Deane Services.
There would also be hard shoulder running and
lane closures through the works.
During the closures traffic would be diverted via
Junctions of the M5 and local roads.
The closures, slip road closures (which would
not apply to emergency services and works
vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly
indicated by traffic signs throughout the works
period and would only apply when traffic
management measures are in place.
The Order would come into force on 1 April 2018
and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
